(Become a Storm Spotter)….A free training class is being held.

The National Weather Service says the class will be held Tuesday in Heber. The class will teach people how to properly identify and report significant weather phenomena and contribute to public safety. Even with sophisticated technology like radar and satellites, forecasters still need ground truth information from trained weather spotters throughout the year. The class will be held at the Imperial County Office of Emergency Services at 1078 Dogwood Road from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. For registration information and questions, go to weather.gov/phoenix and click on Skywarn. The National Weather Service in Phoenix forecasts for Imperial and Eastern Riverside Counties as well as Arizona.
