(County CUPA application still alive)…The Board of Supervisors were given an update Tuesday.

On March 19th the California Environmental Protection Agency issued a notice of intent to deny the County’s application. County Fire Chief Alfredo Estrada gave the update to the Supervisors. The application to CalEPA is a request for County Fire to manage the Certified Unified Program Agency, or CUPA. Tuesday the Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a resolution reaffirming the Imperial County Fire Department as the responsible agency for CUPA, providing authority to respond to the notice of intent and related actions.
