(Armed Soldiers being sent to the Border)…That is what the President says.
In his Wednesday morning tweet, President Donald Trump said he was now sending armed soldiers to the border. He accused Mexican soldiers of pulling guns on National Guard soldiers. He said that was probably done as a diversionary tactic. Trump said it better not happen again. He tweeted We are now sending armed soldiers to the border. Mexico is not doing nearly enough in apprehending and returning. Last week Newsweek reported members of the Mexican Military briefly held two US Army soldiers at gunpoint earlier this month, believing the soldiers had crossed into Mexican territory. That report has not been confirmed. It is unclear what the President was referring to when he said Mexican soldiers pulled guns.
