(Two previously deported people)…They were arrested last week for illegal re-entry.
29 year old Carlos Mendoza Lopez was arrested 12 miles east of the Calexico Port of Entry. He was arrested for suspected illegal entry into the United States. He was taken to the El Centro Border Patrol Station. A records check determined the Mexican National had been convicted of sex with a minor in 2008. He had also been convicted of sexual battery in 2018. After serving time in prison, he was deported back to Mexico. Thursday 29 year old Sebastian Mina Gonzalez was arrested by Border Patrol agents. The Mexican National had been convicted for sex with a minor 3 years of age or younger in 2011. He was deported to Mexico the same year. Mina was arrested for re-entry about 3 miles east of the Calexico West Port of Entry. So far this fiscal year, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents have arrested 15 individuals either convicted or wanted on sexual assault charges after they entered the US illegally.
