(Fire shuts down westbound lanes of I-8)….It happened at just before 8:30 Friday morning.
It happened on westbound Interstate 8 near the Imperial Highway off-ramp. A vehicle pulled to the side of the Interstate with an engine fire. Within minutes the vehicle was fully engulfed. California Highway Patrol and fire crews arrived on scene. The Westbound lanes were closed to allow the fire fighters to extinguish the fire. There were no injuries reported. The CHP is investigating the incident.
