(Gloria Rivera honored)....The Imperial Irrigation District Board of Directors presented the honors.

Rivera recently retired from the District after 46 years. A resolution was read by IID Division 5 Director Norma Sierra Galindo. She said Rivera began working for the IUD as a secretary in 1972. She eventually became the first female Secretary to the Board, a position she held for 24 years. Rivera retired as Executive Assistent to the General Manager/Secretary to the Board. At the Tuesday Board meeting representatives from the offices of Assemblyman Eduardo Garcia, State Senator Ben Hueso and Congressman Juan Vargas presented certificates of recognition to Gloria Rivera, honoring her many years of service and all that she has done for the IID and her community. Friends, family and co-workers were all on-hand to celebrate her life and long career.
