(Agents link cash to drug smuggling)… Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents discovered the cash late last week.

The agents conducted a vehicle stop on Interstate 10, near Blythe. The driver of the vehicle, a 23 year old male US citizen, admitted to possessing drug paraphernalia. The driver gave his consent to the agents request to search the vehicle. During the search the agents discovered a trash bag hidden in a compartment at the rear of the vehicle. Inside the bag, agents discovered $96,565 in cash. Additional evidence was discovered in the vehicle linking the cash to drug smuggling activities.. The driver claimed the cash was not his. The trash bag with the cash was seized by the agents.
