(Winter weather in the mountains)…The National Weather Service says a Winter Weather Warning was issued Tuesday.

That warning in the San Diego County Mountains expired early this morning. During that period around 8 inches of snow was recorded, with snow levels down below 3500 feet. Overnight, snow and ice was reported at Buckman Springs, with high winds. Two fatal injury collisions were reported. Both were single vehicle collisions. One occurred on Interstate 8, East of Crestwood. The second one was reported at 6:45 Wednesday morning when a vehicle crashed off the Pine Valley Bridge. Black Ice was reported on the Interstate East of the Border Patrol Checkpoint. The National Weather Service says Mostly Sunny Skies are forecast, with cold temperatures.
