(Mexicali woman in custody)…She is charged with Human Smuggling.
Customs and Border Protection in Calexico say 31 year old Leticia Alvarado was driving a Honda early Thursday morning. As she entered the Calexico Port, the CBP officer searched the trunk of the vehicle. Inside the officer discovered another woman. Alvarado was placed under arrest. It was determined the woman in the trunk was a Mexican Citizen, with no legal documents to be in the United States. Alvarado was reportedly transporting the woman to Los Angeles, where she was to be paid $7,000, according to information from the smuggled woman.
