(New Board Chairman plans on following tradition)….Ryan Kelley was named Chairman of the Board of Supervisors for 2019.

In accepting the position this week, Kelley said the tradition of our ancestors was overcoming challenges. He said the current Board carries on that tradition. He said the challenges of 2019 include protecting the precious natural resources, especially our water. Another challenge is to ensure the county government is more agile, transparent, and responsive. Kelley said the challenge also means delivering the best possible opportunities for us, our children and grandchildren, to remain in Imperial County, to thrive and enjoy our unparalleled quality of life. As Chairman, Kelley said he will work to champion confidence in our government. Kelley was named Chairman of the Board of Supervisors this week, succeeding Supervisor Raymond Castillo. Supervisor Luis Plancarte was named Vice-chairman of the Board.
