(Highway 86 Repair Project)…It is almost done.
Cal Trans says they are continuing repairs on 32 lane miles of Highway 86, from I Street to Brandt Road near Brawley, and from just east of B Street to Martin Road in Westmorland. The improvements are funded from Senate Bill 1 funds, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017. Work is expected to be complete in January. The paving is finished in Westmorland. Cal Trans expects to complete paving in Brawley before the New Year. The final elements of the project will include adding embankments, electrical work and striping. Crews will be working from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm every day except the holidays. Signs are posted in work areas for traffic control.
