U.S. Customs and Border Protection ( CBP ) officers at the San Luis port of entry arrested a U.S. citizen attempting to smuggle methamphetamine.

The 22-year old man was apprehended early Tuesday afternoon when CBP officers were alerted to his car by a canine unit. Nearly 85 pounds of meth was found inside the car's fenders and below the windshield area. The meth has a street value of over a quarter of a million dollars. The man was arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
