(Thursday is Thanksgiving Day)….The Day of Bountiful feasts.
Nobody should go hungry. Community meals are planned in El Centro, Brawley and Calexico. The Annual Salvation Army Thanksgiving Day meal will be served at 11:30 Thursday morning. It is normally held on Park Avenue and 5th Street, but with construction in the area you may want to check with the Salvation Army to verify the location. In Brawley the Hacienda Scholarship Foundation will hold their Thanksgiving Day Luncheon at the Lions Center, beginning at 11:00 am. Also at 11:00 Thursday morning, the Neighborhood House in Calexico will host their annual Thanksgiving Day meal at the Community Center in Calexico. All three meals are free and open to anyone , underprivileged families, military veterans and those looking for good company on Thanksgiving Day.
