(Jackson decision still pending)…The attorney for Jason Jackson was in court recently.
The hearing was to review the appeal filed by the El Centro City Councilman. Jackson did not attend the review. The defense attorney informed the court the appeal was still in process. Jackson is appealing the 10 day jail sentence handed down in the sentencing of an animal cruelty plea deal reached between Jackson and the District Attorney’s office. Superior Court Judge Christopher Plourd issued a stay on the ten day sentence, and scheduled a return to court on March 14th, in anticipation of a concluded and processed appeal. The new court date is scheduled for the Brawley Court.
