(Woolsey Fire)….Firefighters appear to be getting the upper hand.
The latest report indicates the fire is now 57 percent contained. Officials attribute that to aggressive firefighting, and cooperative weather. Imperial County Strike Team assisting in the fire efforts, could be sent home soon if firefighters continue to gain on containment. The fire has burned over 98,000 acres, destroying 504 structures and damaging 96 others. 57,000 structures are threatened. Evacuations remain in effect. The fire in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties has been burning since November 8th. Three firefighters have been injured and officially, there have been 2 civilian fatalities. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
