(Woman dies Sunday)…Heat may have been to blame. The woman was part of a group that had entered the United States illegally.
They were found in the desert near Highway 98. Officials say the woman had begun feeling the effects of heat exposure. Medical personnel and Border Patrol agents responded to the scene. The woman was transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center, where her condition worsened. She died Sunday afternoon. Deputy Coroner Sergeant Eric Frazier says an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. He said the woman’s identity has not been determined.
