(Local Strike Team recognized)…The local team assisted in the Mendocino Complex Wildfires.
A Strike Team consists of five engines and crew for each from different Fire Departments around the County. This strike team had 40 members, led by Chief Ken Herbert with the El Centro Fire Department. The Chief said the team was faced with life threatening situations, but responded above and beyond the call of duty. Thursday State Senator Ben Hueso was in the County to recognize the team. The Ceremony was held at the fire station in El Centro.
