(Woman admits to a small amount of meth)….Border Patrol agents find a lot more.
35-year-old Erlinda Carrillo recently drove up to the Highway 86 checkpoint, between Westmorland and Salton City. A Border Patrol Canine Detector Team alerted to the vehicle. The agents asked Carrillo if she was in possession of any narcotics. She told them she was, and she showed them a glass pipe and about two grams of methamphetamine. The vehicle was sent to the secondary inspection area. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of five packages of methamphetamine hidden in an after market compartment under the rear seat. The packages weighed 12.5 pounds, with a street value of $81,250. The agents arrested Carrillo. She, the vehicle and the drugs were all turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.
