U. S. Customs and Border Protection officers using cutting edge facial comparison technology at the Port of San Luis detected two imposters.

The two imposters are the first to be detected using biometric technology in the pedestrian crossing at the Arizona port.

On Saturday , October 6 , a 26-year old man presented a border crossing card to a CBP officer. The facial comparison technology used by the officer reported a mismatch and the man was referred to secondary inspection where it was determined he was not the true holder of the border crossing card.

Several hours later , a 39-year old man presented a lawful permanent resident document to a CBP officer and again , the biometric technology reported a mismatch. The man was referred to secondary inspection where it was determined the man was not the same as the documents indicated and also that he was not a lawful permanent resident. 

Both men , Mexican nationals , were arrested and a facing criminal prosecution.
