(John Swaim finally sentenced)….It came this week in Imperial County Superior Court.
Wednesday the former California Highway Patrol Lieutenant was ordered to spend ten years in State Prison. Swaim, who had been assigned to the Winterhaven office at the time of his arrest, was convicted on four counts of child molestation in early February. Probation was denied, given the defendants repeated violations of young girls over the years. The sentence was the maximum allowed for each count. Swaim was credited with the 146 days already served. A motion for a retrial was denied before sentencing was pronounced. The defense says they will file an appeal.
