It's Final

The Official Final Results of the June 3, 2014 Statewide Primary Election have been released by the Imperial County Elections Department.

The Imperial County results were released Friday afternoon and they show no changes in the outcome of the local races. There will be runoffs in November for the County Board of Supervisors districts 1 and 5. Incumbent John Renison will face Daniel Romero in District 1. Renison garnered 1,092 votes , 33.86% , to Romeros 647 votes , 20.06%. In District 5 it was much closer with incumbent Raymond Castillo picking up 1,216 votes and top challenger Wally Leimgruber with 1,084 votes. The race for County Assessor will also run into November with Carlos Zaragoza and Robert Menveille facing off. Zaragoza picked up 6,377 votes and Menveille with 6,269. According to the Elections Department , voter turnout was 30.03% in Imperial County. 6,486 ballots were cast on Election Day while nearly 11,000 ballots were absentee or by mail.
