(Another Convicted Sex Offender arrested)…It was the second arrest in a week.
This arrest was reported Friday afternoon. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector made the arrest. The man was identified as 45-year-old Francisco Gomez Cruz. Agents observed the man attempt to illegally enter the country. During processing it was determined the 45 year old had previously been convicted of a sex offense. He was found guilty in 1999 of annoying or molesting children. Gomez Cruz had been sentenced to two years probation. In 2005 he had been arrested for failing to register as a sex offender. He spent 60 days in jail for that offense, and placed on 2 years probation. Gomez Cruz is being held, awaiting prosecution.
