(Two vehicle collision)…It backed up traffic for hours Thursday.

It was reported on westbound Interstate 8, near the west Highway 98 junction. The California Highway Patrol says the incident was still under investigation and they have released very little details. What is known is that two vehicle’s collided. Apparently one vehicle rear-ended the other. One vehicle rolled, and the other went down an embankment. The driver of the vehicle that rolled was trapped in the vehicle, and had to be extricated. That person was tentatively identified as 28 year old Elizabeth Hunt from Escondido. Reports are that she was driving a vehicle reported stolen in Arizona. She was life-flighted to an area hospital suffering possible major injuries. The other driver suffered minor injuries. The investigation is continuing.
