U. S. Customs & Border Protection Officers found methamphetamine valued at over $230,000 hidden in a car at the Calexico downtown port of entry.
According to CBP , at about 11:00 Thursday morning , a canine team alerted to a northbound car waiting in line. Officers searched the car and discovered 22 wrapped packages of methamphetamine hidden inside all four rocker panels of the vehicle. The meth weighed 36 pounds and is valued at an estimated $236,000. The driver of the car , a 25-year old Mexican citizen , and his passenger , a 22-year old woman , a U.S. citizen were taken into custody.
