(Freedom Fest is not far off)…Gene Brister will discuss the event with the County Board of Supervisors Tuesday.
Brister is the Chairman of the Freedom Fest 2014 Committee. He will go before the Board seeking county support and cooperation for the 4th of July event. The county traditionally has offered over-whelming cooperation and support. Many county employees volunteer to help put on the event. Also at Tuesday’s Board meeting, the Supervisors will be asked to support a couple of plans, as well as funding for the plans. Chief Probation Officer Benny Benavidez will describe the revised Imperial County Comprehensive Multiagency Juvenile Justice Coordinating Plan and the Delinquency Prevention Plan. He will also present a resolution to submit an application to the State of California for funding under the Juvenile Justice Crime Prevention Act. The Board convenes their meeting at 8:30 Tuesday morning.
