(Something for everybody at the California Mid-Winter Fair and Fiesta)….The fair runs this year from February 28th through March 9th.
Officials have released the scheduled entertainment this year. The theme this year is Now Playing. Fair Chief Executive Officer Theresa Garcia says this allows them to partner with the Imperial Valley Film Commission to highlight some great pictures that have been filmed in the Imperial County. Sprint Car racing is coming back to the Fair. The Lightening Sprints will be features Saturday March 8th, presented by Imperial Motorsports Promotions. Separate tickets will be needed to see the races. On Thursday March 6th there will be a unique musical experience. Metalachi is a quintet from Hollywood that performs mariachi versions of Heavy Metal classics. The Chris Gardner Band will be featured on the Grandstand Stage Wednesday, March 5th. The Red Neck Rodeo will wrap up the Fair on Sunday March 9th. The Fair opens with a tribute to Veteran’s with Military Appreciation day. That provides free admission to the Fair on opening day to all military, active duty, retired and reservists, veteran’s and one guest. Tickets to the Fair are on sale at the Imperial Valley Mall and Rabobank for Family Packs. Other tickets are available at Rabobank, Sonic Burger in El Centro and Goyal’s Shell in Brawley.
