(Barricade situation ends with suspect in custody)…It was reported Wednesday afternoon.
Imperial Police say the suspect was reportedly entering houses in the 600 block of Lilac Lane. After he had frightened a few neighbors, he went home and locked himself inside with his 85-year-old father. Police say the fact there were firearms in the home made for a tense situation. The man refused to respond to Law Enforcement calls for him to exit the home. A California Highway Patrol canine was sent in. The dog was able to force the suspect out of the house. He was arrested and taken to El Centro Regional Medical Center for treatment of a minor dog bite. It was determine the man was mentally ill and he was taken to County Mental Health for an examination. The suspect was not identified.
