(Calexico Port updates)….Three workshops have been scheduled.
All three will be held Thursday. Informational public workshops will take place at the Carmen Durazo Cultural Arts Center in Calexico. The workshops are to discuss the northbound traffic switch for motorists entering from Mexico, at the expanded Calexico Port of Entry. The change begins in September. General Services Administration completed the first stage of the expansion in July. The traffic switch will direct northbound motorists onto 2nd Street in Calexico. Access to Cesar Chavez Boulevard will be limited to local traffic, buses and recreational vehicles while the city works on widening and improvements. The Cesar Chavez Boulevard renovation is scheduled to begin in September. The 3 workshops Thursday will run from 7:30 to 10:30 am. 12:30 to 2:30 pm and 4:00 to 7:30 pm.
