(Excessive Heat taking a toll)….There have been two heat related deaths this week.

Heat related illness has been reported in Yuma. Imperial County officials say a male body was found in a camping tent on Patriots Point near Salvation Mountain in Niland. Another victim was discovered in the area between Mah’s Kitchen and Burgers and Beer on Imperial Avenue in El Centro. The identities of not been released. Both deaths appear to be heat related. Thursday Castle Dome Middle School was evacuated follow a false fire alarm. Temperatures at the time in Yuma were around 115 degrees. The Yuma County Fire Department determined there was no fire nor any danger, and the students were returned to class. Several students complained of heat related illness. Two students were taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center for treatment. The public is reminded to take precautions during days of extreme temperatures.
