(Traffic backed up for miles)…It remained that way for hours.

It came to everyone’s attention Sunday on Social Media. Motorists posted video of being stuck in traffic on eastbound Interstate 8. They even posted the cause of the problem. A man was threatening to jump off the Pine Valley Bridge. The California Highway Patrol responded along with several other first responders. After several hours, traffic was diverted from I-8, around the bridge to Pine Valley and back onto the Interstate. Negotiations with the distraught man lasted into the early morning hours Monday. The CHP said he was finally talked down, and taken away safely. No other details were released.
