The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has sued a local restaurant chain saying they violated sex discrimination laws.

The EEOC contends that since 2015 , Burgers & Beer disqualified male applicants from server positions based on sex. The EEOC said that the company rejected male applicants for those positions and maintained a server workforce that was over 90% female. The federal agency said that this action violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 , which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex.
