Calexico - On Wednesday, October 4th we will have the flautist Elena Duran, with piano accompaniment give a concert in Rodney Auditorium from 6:30 pm to 7:20 pm. This event is open to the public, faculty, and staff, without charge.
The concert is sponsored by the Mexican Consulate and will provide both Mexican and American music. The Mexican pieces will include ones by Agustín Lara (Solamente Una Vez), Jose Pablo Moncayo (Amatzinac), Tata Nacho (Asi Es Mi Tierra), and other favorites. The American pieces will include ones by Leonard Bernstein (West Side Story), Stephen Foster (Sewanee River), Scott Joplin, and other favorites. Dr. Roeder, Dean of SDSU-IVC, invites the entire community and says that everyone should feel very much encouraged to come and enjoy this concert. |
