San Diego State University-Imperial Valley Campus Honors Mrs. Marscia Menvielle |

A reception was held in the Steppling Gallery, on the campus of San Diego State University in Calexico, Thursday evening to honor Mrs. Marscia Menvielle. Supervisor Victor Carrillo, County Supt. Of Schools John Anderson, Imperial County Sheriff Ray Loera, and members of the Imperial Valley San Diego State Advisory Board attended the reception.

Dr. Stephen Roeder dean of San Diego State University-Imperial Valley campus presented Mrs. Menvielle with a plaque to celebrate her graduation in 1934 from SDSU in San Diego. Dean Stephen Roeder stated, “Mrs. Menvielle was the most senior graduate of SDSU living in the Imperial Valley. During her college career, Mrs. Menvielle was the founder of a campus sorority in San Diego, which later became a national sorority, known today as Kappa Delta.” Mrs. Menvielle’s children and family, Ralph and Sharon Menvielle, Robert Menvielle, and John Pierre Menvielle, IID Director, attended the ceremony. |
