JŌB began in 2003 when a group of clergy began coming together to envision a regional, county-wide, faith-based organization focused on addressing the disparities in San Diego County. The leadership of JŌB committed to engage other community institutions in an effort to build bridges across race, class, and geography, bringing more people to the table of justice.

Award Amount: $1000.00 Academic Scholarship– Fiesta del Sol Scholarship Reception

Criteria:

1. Must be enrolled in an education institution as an undergraduate or graduate student by Fall 2007.
2. Must have resided in San Diego County.
3. Must complete scholarship application and submit by deadline date.
4. Must have letter of recommendation submitted (See application for details).
5. Must submit proof of enrollment prior to receiving scholarship funds.
6. Must be available to attend a Financial Education Workshop hosted by GMAC Financial prior to receiving scholarship funds.
7. If selected, must be available to attend Scholarship Reception on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 and be available to volunteer and participate in Awards Ceremony at Fiesta del Sol San Diego on August 18-19, 2007.

Selection Process:

Applications will be reviewed by designated members of the Fiesta del Sol Education Scholarship Selection Committee. If you are awarded a scholarship, program staff will notify you via phone and e-mail.

Scholarship Application Deadline & Timeline

1. Submit Completed Application no later than Friday June 29, 2007 by 5:00pm
2. Month of July Selection Committee reviews all application
3. End of July scholarship winners will be notified via email and telephone
4. Attend August 15th
5. Submit proof of enrollment at college/university prior to receiving scholarship funds.
