Imperial, California - In collaboration with San Diego State University-Imperial Valley Campus, The Associated Students of Imperial Valley College will celebrate National Hispanic Month with a variety of events beginning September 19th.   Highlighting the celebration will be Dr. Maggie Rivas Rodríguez of the School of Journalism at the University of Texas-Austin, who will speak on the educational implications of Ken Burns’ “The War” a 15-hour documentary on World War II, scheduled to air nationally on PBS TV stations on September 23.  Cosponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 9305, this event, free and open to the public, will take place at 12 noon on September 19 in the College Center at Imperial Valley College, 830 E. Aten Road in Imperial. Round-trip transportation to the event from SDSU-Imperial Valley Campus will depart at 10:30 a.m. from the campus parking lot on Sherman Ave. in Calexico and return from Imperial Valley College at 1 p.m. For further information, contact Dr. Rogelio Reyes,  (760) 768-5532
