(Eastbound Interstate 8 closed Sunday night)…The Interstate was closed for a few hours Sunday night, delaying traveler’s return to the County. The California Highway Patrol closed eastbound I-8 at Willows Road at 9:00 pm Sunday. The closure was to allow the CHP and other emergency personnel unlimited access to a traffic accident on the Interstate near Highway 79. At least three vehicles were involved. The Highway Patrol says several people were injured, including one seriously. The most seriously injured was flown to a San Diego area hospital for treatment. No names have been released. The Eastbound lanes of the Interstate were reopened at 11:00 pm.
