(Rib Cook-off a resounding success)….The 19^th Annual event was held at Samaha Park in Holtville Saturday. The Annual event is hosted by the Holtville Athletic Club. They say attendance was better than ever, setting a record. Proceeds were also up. The award winners this year were; the Calexico Firefighters Association, who picked up the Judges Choice. The Pinnacle Award went to Red Neck Ribs. Best Side Dish went to Torrence’s Farm Implements. And the Best Booth Award went to the Imperial County Planning Department. The Judges at this year’s event were once again members of the Blue Angels flight demonstration team. The proceeds from the second largest event in the Imperial County are distributed by the Holtville Athletic Club to youth organizations and athletic endeavors throughout the County.
