Brawley man stabbed several times

(Brawley man wanted for Attempted Murder)….Brawley Police Commander Brett Houser says the suspect is believed to have stabbed a man several times. Houser says the incident was reported Thursday. The victim, identified only as a 49-year-old Brawley resident, had driven himself to Pioneers Memorial Hospital. The Hospital contacted police. The Commander says the victim identified his attacker as 32-year-old Anthony Donalto Cortez of Brawley. Houser says the two apparently were arguing over property and money when the stabbing occurred. The victim suffered a stab wound to the abdomen and multiple stab wounds to the neck. The victim underwent surgery at PMH and is expected to recover. Houser says the suspect is still at large. He Cortez is a long term resident of Brawley and it is believed he is still in the City. The Commander says any information concerning the whereabouts of the suspect should be forwarded to the Brawley Police departments Investigations Division.
