(Injured man left behind)…A vehicle in Brawley ran into the back of a truck earlier this week. Brawley Police Commander Brett Houser says the vehicle suffered heavy front-end damage. A passenger in the vehicle suffered serious injury. The Driver of the vehicle abandoned the scene and the unconscious passenger. The driver was later identified as 35-year-old Jose Villa. The passenger was not identified. Houser says officers were at Pioneers Memorial Hospital with the victim, investigating the Hit and Run, when the suspect arrived at the Hospital. It is not known why Villa went to PMH. He was not suffering any apparent injuries. Officers interviewed Villa, and then placed him under arrest. Houser says he was charged with felony hit and run, Driving under the influence and driving without a license. The passenger was later transferred to a San Diego area hospital for treatment of what was described as life threatening injuries. His condition is not known. |
