Appreciation Breakfast early Friday morning

(Farmworkers Appreciation Breakfast to be held Friday morning)….The Annual event almost did not happen. Organizers came up short of money. This week the County Board of Supervisors agreed the event was an important one, and agreed to donate $300 from their own budget for this week’s event, and $300 to go towards next years Breakfast. The Annual event is a small Thank-you to farm workers, who are still the backbone of the largest industry in Imperial County. Agriculture is still a billion dollar industry. The Farmworker Breakfast has been hosted by the Employment Development Department in Calexico for the past 30 years. The Appreciation Breakfast is being held at the One Stop at 301 Heber Avenue in Calexico. Doors open at 2:00 Friday morning. Breakfast will be served at 3:00 am. The City of Calexico and the Calexico Chamber of Commerce also donated to make this year’s event happen.
