Family injured in traffic collision

(Three injured in single vehicle collision)…The California Highway Patrol says the incident was reported Sunday evening. According to the report released by the CHP, 27 year old Luis Rivas of Brawley was driving the vehicle south on Brown Road at just before 7:00 pm. At the curve that transitions into Yocum Road, the Highway Patrol says the driver failed to negotiate the sharp turn. The vehicle continued straight through the curve. The vehicle ran off the roadway, and into a large drainage ditch. The driver suffered minor injuries. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 26-year-old Gloria Rivas, suffered major injuries. A one-year-old child suffered minor injuries. All were transported to Pioneers Memorial Hospital for treatment. The CHP says the incident is still under investigation.
