(IID Board rejects ECA restructuring plan)…The plan would have incorporated the Energy Cost Adjustment into the basic power rate. Staff and consultants said it would not create an energy rate increase on power bills this budget cycle. Two public hearings were held to discuss the plan. Imperial Irrigation District Directors said Tuesday there was a fear the plan would not increase rates now, but it may in the future. The proposal died for a lack of a motion. The Energy Cost Adjustment was designed to cover fuel, purchase power, transmission and other related costs. |
