| The Brawley Wildcats , Central Spartans and Palo Verde Yellowjackets will represent the Imperial Valley League in the C.I.F. - San Diego Section varsity football play-offs while the Calipatria Hornets will represent the Pacific League. The Central Spartans will have a first round home game Friday night against the Clairmont Chieftans. The Spartans enter the Divion IV playoffs with an 8-2 overall record and a 4-0 record in the Imperial Valley League. They will meet Clairmont High School Friday night at Cal Jones Field in El Centro. The Chieftans are 4-6 overall with a 3-3 record in the Central League. The winner of Fridays game would meet number 3 seed Madison High School , the Central League champions with a 9-1 overall record and 6-0 in league play. In Division III , the Brawley Wildcats , 8-2 overall and 3-1 in the IVL , will meet the El Capitan Vaqueros who were 6-4 overall and 4-0 in the Grossmont North League. The game will be played at El Capitan High School in Lakeside Friday night. Winner of the Brawley - El Capitan game will have to face number one seed Cathedral Catholic in the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Palo Verde beat out Imperial for a Division IV playoff berth. The Yellowjackets will meet La Jolla in San Diego. In the Division V bracket , the Calipatria Hornets ( 6 -4 ) ( 3 - 4 ) will take on Calvin Christian ( 7 - 3 ) ( 7 - 0 ) from the Southern League. The Hornets will meet the Crusaders in Escondido.The Central Spartans game will be broadcast live on KXO AM1230. |
