(Air Quality in Calexico not good)…The Air Pollution Control District says the Border City Air Quality has been Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups.

An Air Quality Alert was first issued at 10:00 pm Wednesday night. The Air Quality Monitor at Calexico East reached an Air Quality Index of 103 for PM 2.5. This was for a 24-hour average, and it represents a condition of Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. Another Alert was issued for the same area Thursday morning. The APCD says the groups most at risk because of the increased levels of the finite Particulate Matter are people with respiratory or heart disease, the elderly and children, especially when they are physically active. It is recommended that high-risk residents in the affected areas postpone outdoor activity to days when particulate levels are lower.
