Brawley police arrest two assault suspects

(Two arrested in separate assaults)…Brawley Police Commander Brett Houser says the incidents were reported Friday and Saturday. The first incident was reported at 7:00 Friday evening. Police received a call from the 900 block of Dominguez Court. It was determined a domestic battery had occurred. Officer arrested 35-year-old Rudy Sanchez. The victim, who was not identified, did not sustain any injuries. Houser says the second assault was apparently gang motivated. The assault was reported at 12:48 Saturday morning. Two suspects were reported attacking someone in the area of 1200 North Imperial Avenue. Officers located one of the suspects after a failed attempt to flee the area. They arrested 18-year-old Robert Rangel. He was charged with assault. The Commander says, based on information gathered during the call, the assault may have been motivated by gang activity. The victim, who was not identified, did not suffer serious injury. Houser says the victim does not have any gang affiliation.
