El Centro Police arrest burglary suspect

(20 Year-old a suspect in residential Burglaries)….The investigation began in the first part of October. El Centro Police began investigating several residential burglaries. Detectives say they focused on one possible suspect. He was identified as 20-year-old Ivan Velazquez, a resident of El Centro. Velazquez was named a suspect after he was found using credit cards that were stolen during one of the burglaries. Thursday at around noon, Police Officers, armed with a search warrant, went to the suspect’s home at 480 Aurora in El Centro. Inside the house, officers found Velazquez and property related to the burglaries. Property from other thefts was recovered, as well. The 20 year old was arrested and booked into County Jail. He was charged with Burglary and possession of stolen property. Additional charges are pending, including using a stolen credit card and attempted auto theft.
