Man found dead in Canal

(Body found in All American)…Deputy Coroner Sergeant Charles Lucas says the body was found by Border Patrol Agents. The agents discovered the body at around 1:00 pm Wednesday afternoon at Drop 4. Lucas said the body is that of a 37-year-old Hispanic male. He said the man has been identified, and he will be working with the Mexican Consulate in Calexico to notify next of kin. The victims name will not be released until family is notified. Lucas said it is suspected the man was an illegal immigrant. He said preliminary indications the man died as a result of drowning, but an autopsy will be conducted Friday to try and determine the exact cause of death.
