2 Arrested Attempting To Smuggle 22 Undocumented Immigrants

Border Patrol Agents at the Highway 86 Checkpoint in Imperial County arrested 2 U.S. citizens as they attempted to smuggle 22 undocumented immigrants in a travel trailer. The arrests came Sunday evening at about 6:00 p.m. when a Ford F-250 truck with a travel trailer attached was referred to secondary inspection because of the drivers suspicious behavior. Agents discovered 22 undocumented immigrants in the trailer. The driver and a passenger , both U.S. citizens , were arrested and are being held pending charges of alien smuggling.
