CHP completes investigation of Saturday morning crash

(Driver identified and arrested)….The California Highway Patrol says 24-year-old Jose Alfredo Olivares was driving the vehicle. The Bakersfield man lost control of his Suzuki as he drove south on Highway 111, north of Abatti Road early Saturday morning. Olivares was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected as the vehicle rolled several times in the center median. The driver suffered head trauma and broken limbs. He was taken to El Centro Regional Medical center for treatment. At the time, the CHP said the incident was under investigation. The Highway Patrol now says Olivares has been placed under arrest for suspicion of driving the vehicle under the influence.
