Two Marines, one from Calexico, and two women killed

(Marines identified. One from Calexico)…The Marines were in a vehicle that crashed in Mexicali early Friday morning. The two Marines were killed along with two civilian women. A third Marine, stationed in Yuma, was not injured. Camp Pendelton officials identified the two who suffered fatal injuries as 19-year-old Pfc. Isidro Godinez of Calexico and 21-year-old Lance Corporal Julio Galvan of Maywood, Illinois. The third Marine and the two women were not identified. The single vehicle collision occurred at around 3:00 Friday morning in Mexicali. At last report, the collision was still being investigated, and officials had not given a location of the collision. Godinez and Galvan were both diesel mechanics and served in the 3^rd Combat Engineer Battalion, 1^st Marine Division at Camp Pendelton.
